Mental Health Nursing – Could you COPE

A CDC report states that about 996,000 people suffer from some type of mental illness in the United States of America, in a given year. The report also mentions that a whopping 25% of adults in the country suffers from a mental disorder (which is about 1 in 4 adults). Mental health nursing helps the individual to solve a mental disorder and thus contribute to improving society and the economy.

The task is difficult because these nurses do not see any visible symptoms of the disease. They have to understand the behavior of the person and try to find the possible cause. They can definitely interact with families of patients to find out the reasons responsible for the sudden change in behavior of the individual.
